We are going to Freeman park at Carolina Beach. Anyone else going. We will be there till Monday morning.

Looks like a really nice beach camping setup. What type of a tent/beach shelter do you use?

What is it like camping at Freeman Park? Suitable for a family with small kids or is it a loud party place?
Does it get crowded? My guess is that it does.
 
This is our tent set up..... There's actually ton's of kids that are there. Family friendly in my opinion. And since they changed the rule's this year its a lot better. Not near as loud as it was last year with the old rules. Gets pretty quiet around 9pm. This pic is from our last camping trip two weeks ago.

I checked their website and it says $10/night in season. I am not clear on how much vehicle access costs if you are camping? Vehicle daily pass is $30. Does this apply when camping too?

Wife said I have to wait before the kids are out of diapers before we can go. :(
 
Season pass is $150 + $10/night camping? Bargain compared to a $300 hotel room with musty AC and ice machine noise.

How are your bucket anchors setup? Are the posts secured to the bucket and then you add sand for weight? It is always a struggle to secure things in sand. I am not the only one judging by the number of flying sun umbrellas on beached.
 
Yes its 150 plus 10. But if u get pass in December its $75. Buckets just have sand in them. Holds down perfect. We use 12 inch tent stake's and holds tent down great even with 20 mph winds that came through here a few weeks ago. We got a 14 person tent for 100 at target on sale and couldn't be happier. Takes about 5 minutes to put up. Another 10 minutes putting stake's down because I'm very picky on how I put them in. We love it out here. Since there is always a breeze on beach its actually gets cool at night. Nothing better then having a campfire by the ocean with the ole lady camping. And its actually affordable lol.
