Not really. I just thought you guys might like this. Picked up this 96 XJ a couple of weeks ago as a possible new project. Price was right and figured if I could save it it would be nice and if not it would be parts. Turns out there are some structural issues along with it being attacked by a rabid welder, so I'm just going to turn it into parts. Started working on it today and found some funny stuff.

How about third row seating? Gotta keep the bitches safe.....

I miss the old "you pick" junkyards like Wake Auto Parts that used to be on Tryon rd. Raleigh. My teenage buddies and I found all kinds of stuff in the junked cars while looking for used parts there. Dollars and lots of coins, lots of hand tools, fishing rods/reels, magazines, unopened bottles of alkyhol, working 8 track or casette tapes, sunglasses, hats, some nice concert T shirts, paraphernalia and shoes/ boots etc. underneath seats, in gloveboxes and in unopened trunks we pryed open. I remember a friend dug around in a bunch of ashtrays one day and found alot of "cigarette butts" and another found a bottle of Jack Daniels in a trunk wheelwell and 3 of us drank and fogged up a wrecked van one afternoon Cheech and Chong style w the widows rolled up! The owners were laid back and did'nt charge or charged very little for things we found besides the parts we were looking for. It was like a scavenger hunt sometimes and someone always wanted to tag along when someone went there for parts to see what treasures they could find and we usually left w pockets full of sockets/tools and change along w the cheap used parts. Good times!

Oh yeah, I'm with ya. There is a yard out in Elm City that we used to go to in high school. They had a lot of vintage stuff, we found all kinds of cool/strange stuff out there. We used to haul off all kinds of license plates from that place too.
