pinion gear marked 877??

just took the reardiff cover off and the only numbers I see so far is 877.. googled and googled could notfindany info at allonthis.. anyone havea clue?

what axle is it? d44, d60, d70. AAm 11.5? Sterling?

ok im a toltal noob here inthis stuff.. buti know its a dana 35... ring gear says 872 and pinion says 877..

Those number have to do with how to set it up due to slight variences on making them.

I bet that both of them have the same number, but you are reading it wrong. That particular number simply matched THAT pinion to THAT ring gear. The only numbers on a Dana 35 that have anything to do with setup will be the pinion variance number. That will be a number ranging from -3 to +3 and will be on the pinion. Some aftermarket gearsets will have a nominal measurement engraved also.

well ive concluded that its stock.. it had the word dana on one of the gears
