Anyone headed down for this? I was going to go with my dad, but he's going to some Leadslead show in Hickory. I'd go, but $20 just to watch seems steep.

expensive?

the promoter was on John Boy and Billy yesterday talking about how affordable the admission was as compared to other type events around the country, etc.

Yes, expensive. It cost $30 to run you car at the Atlanta pinks. I don't know how much race entry is at Charlotte, but there most likely won't be anyone running any faster than 9.50's so that's kind of pricey. I could be wrong but, for $20 you don't get a seat either, that's an extra $5.

Me and the wifey will be there. Sitting at the 1/8 mile mark, row 20.

I raced my Z06 on opening night Test & Tune at Z Max and was severely disappointed. Most expensive track in the state, worst prep I have raced on, and I got only two runs in 4 hours. I spent the rest of the time waiting in line.

Maybe it has improved, but I'll just keep driving the two hours to the Rock.

That being said, Pinks may be fun.

I just drove past their on my way back home...holy crap, there's a lot of cars waiting in line to race. They are having them drive all the way around the backside of LMS, then come under hwy 29 and back around that access road to get to the dragstrip. From Hwy 29, I couldn't see the end of the line.

some of the cars in the end ran i think a 9.40 or so but it was well worth my 25 bucks to go, They ran jet cars . one of the car went 302 mph it was awsome and money well spent i think anyway 9's in the quarter ir pretty dang quick if uve ever built a car

so what sort of times did they move on to the finals?

my wife's friend has an old camaro that ran out there the other night. he said he ran an 11 flat but that's b/c he got squirly towards the end and had to let off. not sure what that car is capable of but it's definitely a beast. hell, anything in the 11s or faster is crazy fast-especially for a street rod.

if they ran a low 9 second show then hopefully their are two wilmington cars that will be in it :)

We had a Blast. The white malibu that rode the back bumper almost half track was awsome, but the best driving all day was the guy in the black vega cross the yellow line then back to the wall. Finally straightend her out about 3/4 of the way down. Never let out of it and came back for the win.

how about the wheelie s2000 that ran 9's until it snapped an axle? lol

me and the wife were there till the end. it was awesome. i liked the 55 chevy that ran 7.62@174mph

The guy's name that drove the car is big sexy. If you see him youll know why thats his name lol. My buddys family is real big in hotrods and drag raceing. They know the guy who built the car and said that it would do a little better than what he was running sat.

Also did anybody see the 2door xj that ran first thing that morning. He was fast but dident see him the rest of the day.

We sat next to a crew that was there just to see/root for him. They were all neighbors and cousins. As soon as he came up to the line for his first run of the day, they said he'd win his class...and he sure did. That BelAir was one of the baddest rides there all weekend.

Ok ok, where are the pics from this thing!!!! I'm dying here!

i was there good event a hatch and teg running 9 flat spinning and the teg broke a cam shaft the s2k was nice :p 4 wide racing was pretty cool to
