That is a very ignorant statement. I work at WHS and she WAS the sweetest dog..would crawl in your lap and lick your face til you got up. Fortunately she did get adopted by a guy from Greensville or something. Do not judge a dog by its breed. Most Pit bulls are quoted as being aggressive because of inbreeding (big F-you to the watauga dogfighters, I have countless stories about them turning pits in because they wouldn't fight or breed) and improper socialization from a young age.
I have a Pit/Lab mix that is not aggressive, her biggest concern is that because Pits were bred as "gladiator" dogs, she usually won't back down if there's a confrontation. It IS the owners' responsibility to know their dog's actions and temperments around people/other animals.
Not really ignorant. I wouldn't have adopted her because I personally would not be comfortable with a Pit bull or a rottweiler. What kind of dog owner would I be if I was not 100 comfortable with my dog? After all, you lead the dog, not the other way around.
