I know some of you have rented places in and around Evarts, KY for wheeling trips. If possible can I gets some contact names and numbers? You can PM me if you'd rather not post up. Thanks in advance.

We use to rent off of James White but dont know if he's still around. He was in pretty bad health a year or so ago. Any particualr place, pillsville????

We stayed at the "Little Inn of Harlan" last year. It was fine.

This year we're renting a cabin at "Harlan County Campground".

If you have a large group and want a house try Is Blas @606 five0five 536five or Ernest Vanober @ 606 five0five 9six99. It works out to about $15 per person per night with 10.

Thanks to those who posted. Decided just to stay on the Harlan side at the campground/cabins. Will just be more convenient (sp) for all parties involved on this trip. Would still be interested though in places on the evarts side for future reference. Thanks

I think we stayed in one of his places also.

You may already know this but the Putney/Harlan side is a good drive maybe a hour across the mountain to most of the named trails. Where as if you stay in Evarts the majority of the trails are only minutes away. We stayed in Putney our first trip about 5yrs ago and spent most of the day lost looking for the obstacles, this was before maps or trail markers also.

Yes, I know what you mean. Ran into that as well years back. To this day, I still don't know where were were at..lol Have a group coming up from TX and the cabins, and location to trial will work better for this trip I think. Appreiciate the heads up!
