I am needing a suit fast. I need one that I can get on the cheap side but still look half way decent. Anyone know of any good cheaper places to get a tailored suit at around Greensboro/High Point. Nowhere out in BFE or far away from me.

I use the Men's Warehouse in Charlotte. Fast and plan on $400. I think that's cheap for some but not really cheap for me...

x2, I was in your shoes 10yrs ago, I went to the Mens Wearhouse on Battleground day of my event. No idea how much I paid, if it was expensive or not, but I did get what I needed ASAP. I wonder if that suit still fits me?

x3 on Men's Wearhouse.

Hell, go to wal-mart I bought a jacket for $45, got a shirt and tie for another $40, and picked up a pair of pants for $20. And I don't think I looked to bad. For a redneck in a suit anyways.

Are you a weird size? Like really big or small? Do you knwo what size jacket you need?

Honestly the last 2 sportcoats I bought for work - I got at the local Goodwill. Average $10.
They typically have tons of them, they key is finding something that fits... since it seems that 90% of men's coats, for whatever reason, don't seem to have the size seqn into them.
unlikely you'll find any that are exact, but you can get them fitted/fixed for $40 or so from a local seemstress.

I've bought a suit and a jacket from Macy's. Pretty happy with my epxerience. Lots of sizes, and usually somebody there that can do alterations same day. You can usually find a nice, brand name suit for about $300. They're pretty good about carrying odd sizes. I'm a 46L jacket, and they had plenty to choose from.

Kohl's. Spend about 100 for pants, 100 for jacket, and then whatever else you need.

If stuff like that matters to you...a good suit will cost a bit/lot more, but they do last....buy three cheap suits, or one quality suit. Unless you con't take care of them. Or get fat. There is a difference in material and cut, too. Sit on the back row in church...you can easily pick out the (few) people that have quality suits.

My suits aren't that expensive, around $900, by the time I buy some ties, shirts, etc to go with it, usually drop $1600 or so...but, practically everytime I wear one, to church, wedding, whatever, people will say something about it...folks notice. (And one is just a plain charcoal goes-anywhere suit).

I get my stuff at Ashworths in Fuquay...nice folks and worth the trip. They know their stuff...it's a real, locally owned mens shop, not a chain.

x 10 on mens warehouse great quality and lifetime tailoring. Ive had a couple of suits that they've had to retailor for me b/c I got fat. But if your looking for cheap and fast go to goodwill. You can get a whole suit for 10 bucks......

Men's Warehouse....I'm 6'7" 300lbs & they got me hooked up in an hour or two (had to "manipulate" the coat & pants) & looked great (the suit, not me).

Good luck!

S&K and Burlington Coat Factory also sell lower priced suits.

x2 for S&K. I bought 2 suits from there. Every once in a while, they have a "buy one get one half off" sale too. Good quality stuff at a decent price.

Kohl's. Spend about 100 for pants, 100 for jacket, and then whatever else you need.

another x2 for Kohls. I dont buy suits there... but you can't beat their price on dress shirts, ties, belts etc.

JosA is that next tier...gonna spend a few more $$$ than at Mens Wearhouse/KG/S&K but get a noticeable touch nicer quality for the coin....

no JosABank fans?
S&K if I need something quick and cheap, Jos A Bank if I want something decent that fits pretty good

Jos A Bank is nice too... but he said fast and cheap.

Suit

You need to look at a suit like any other "tool". You get what you pay for.
Worked for IBM for a long time so went through a few suits. Like someone mentioned earlier, good fit and material is well worth it over the long haul. A good suit will easily outlast a bad one 3 times over. And you will wear a good suit more often because you know you look better in it. Cloths do make the man. If you are going for a job interview, meeting with a customer, or just want to make a good impression with whomever, knowing you look good is a huge confidence builder.

fast and cheap only looks good if you are the exact size as the suit :)

More than likely it'll need to be altered. Most places offer alterations for cheap or free but are usually limited to the cuffs, inseam, and waist. 3rd party alterations are nice and can make the suite look awesome! I'm oddly shaped so I have to have the works when altering a suit but the end result is MUCH nicer even with cheap(er) suits for work, etc.
