we don't really have anything in town. we end up going to tellico/harlan most of the time. dave

Last I heard Globe is a no go. Tickets will be written/trespassing/bad image for us and all that. It's too bad cause I never got to go.

well that sucks.
I know that road was one of the roads you could take to get off the mountain when 321 was closed due to the slide. It sure beat driving down 421 to wilkes and then cutting back to get to hickory.

You're thinking of the Johns River Rd out of Blowing Rock, and that's a state maintained road that is still open. The Globe trail, which wasn't really the Globe trail, has never been open. It's just that the fact that it's closed is now being enforced.

Hey ya'll. I'm from Kingsport. Has anybody ever rode Bays Mountain? Pretty good little trail. About 2 miles worth. Has a pretty good rock crawling loop trail if you're built for it. It's a Tennessee public Road but 4x4 required.

Damn I miss Globe. I was looking at someone's website and had some from 97-98 on there. That rock garden was tits.

Just rode Bays for the first time this past weekend w/ the guys over at 4x4Grace. Great lil place, we rode it up the backside (everyone that's rode it several times said it was a lotta better than going up the front entrance) For the western NC guys I compared it a lot to Sampson/Richlands road. Mostly trail ridin' and fun for the stock and lightly modded, but for somewhere more hardcore there were limited spots to flex out and bash some stuff. None the less I had a great time out there and met a lot of great people.

Any good places around Cary or Raleigh??? Ive been lookin but i can't find any

Nothing to legal or anything. unless you know a farmer who will let you drive down to the pasteur and get mud on your truck that way.

Thats not true there are places to wheel in RTP

They are just a secret because those of us that have been wheeling them for 7 to 10 years dont want other people getting them shutdown or noticed. HEHE!!!!:flipoff2: Sorry but if you have worked hard to keep a couple secret places to wheel then you dont want a bunch of crazy idiots who have no respect to ruin that for you.

What about POOLE RD???? Who misses that place? I DO. It was am amazing place to wheel in raleigh because it had everything. MUD, sand, hill climbs, rocks, creek crossings, water holes, ditches, offcamber stuff, flat fields, old cars to climb on. places to cook out and parking, and woods with obstacles everywhere. WOW! I miss going there.:(

Yeah, and it was fawking illegal. Dumbass. :shaking:

Didn't you say that after you sold your truck, you were going away and not coming back? What happened to that?

we can wheel my backyard
