I am looking to start collecting quotes for a new garage (workshop only). We are in Efland, smack dab between Greensboro and Raleigh (i.e no one local that I have found).

Anyone have a recommendation for a company or contractor that can handle the project? Looking for slab, building, and basic wiring.

"I should have built it bigger"
"I can't believe how expensive this was"
"The roofer is an f'n idiot"
"Where did all the space go?"
"Where's the tape measure?!?!?!?!"

These are common ones in my shop.

I have nothing useful to add...

Fortunately I have a regular garage (too small for anything but oil changes and parking small cars) and a decent shed that serves as overflow storage. For the last 15 years I have been relegated to gravel driveways, a cramped carport, or (on good days) a small patch of concrete in a 20*30 garage that was packed to the gills with what is now in the shed.

Prepared for the shop to be smaller than I need/want quickly.... looking to build to a price point, so it won't be my dream garage, but it will be one I don't make payments for either.

If you choose to basically GC it your self, there is alot of $$ to be saved.

Are you looking stick built or red iron?
Unfortunately I don't have the availability to do the GC work right now, having done that in the past, I am not going to kid myself into believing I could manage it with my current schedule.

Probably red iron for cost reasons, but my wife would prefer something stick built-ish, if only so it matches the house. I have seen some iron buildings with stick built facades that would probably be a happy middle ground.

Not sure what his work load looks like but call my BIL and see if he is available during the time frame your thinking. Adam Collins (336) 972-9022
