poping back threw the carb

on a freash rebuild 22r, at tcd the cam gear is straight up and down, set the distbutior to the number one spark plug. when i give it gas it pops threw the weber. i have the valves adj. .7 .9 thats what ted from engbld said to set them at with 261 cam. anyhelp?
 
What's your timing set at?

Are you 100% sure the dist isn't 180 out? I'm in Kannapolis as well and if you need a timing light to borrow call me on my cell 704-658-4087.

yeah it fireing on number one, thanks i got a light timing is at 10 ut i had to move it a tooth on the cam gear to run better but it still pops threw the carb
 
need a toyota 22r guru to pm if they have any advice, pm if you would like to call me, any help would be great, gota get it running its my dd
