it is a portable mig welder that runs off of two batteries..
speaking of which do YOU know how to arc weld?
If so...you can take car batteries and jumper cables to make a ARC welder. (2 of them in series will do 1/4" or more)
in series means on Battery A, the + to the - on Battery B....
Then Battery B + side is your HOT/side where the rod goes..
Battery A - is your ground/negative side, clamp to item you are welding
BY THE WAY...if you don't know what you are doing, please DONT try this at home, etc....I have seen it done multiple times on the trail, etc to get someone fixed in a pinch...but usually the guy doing the welding was a welder already.
This CAN possibly hurt the car batteries, esp if you really drain them down hard/fast... small jobs/in small increments (allow batteries to recover and those cables to COOL off)...will reduce this chance....
Ok...hope that helps..I have a readywelder but i am up in greensboro or would be glad to help!
