I decided since it's nice out that I would detail my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited today. I got the air hose out, moved the front seats all the way forward and blew all the mess from up under the front seats forward and started vacuuming. I'm tall (6'6") so I have to have the seat ALL the way back to drive comfortably. After I was finished vacuuming I got in the Jeep to move the seat back and noticed it was very jerky and the seat was moving way slower than usual. It seems to move forward okay but will not hardly go back. It will hit a spot and just stop and will not go back any more. What could be wrong? I really don't have time to tear into it today or tomorrow which sucks and the seat is pretty far forward so it's very uncomfortable to drive right now.

I just messed with it a little more...I kept clicking the switch back and it would move a little at a time and I almost had it all the way moved back and it stopped and will not move any more. I have not tried to move it forward now because I don't want it to get too far forward to where I can't drive it.

If you can hear the motor running but nothing is moving, probably something wrong with the gear(s) or track(s). I know it is a problem in the fj80s and the plastic gear will strip rather than the metal track.

You probably "blew all the mess from up under the front seat" all over the lightly greased tracks... time to clean them off
That's why everyone else on the planet uses a vacuum ;) (yes, we know it's tight, but that what attachments are for)
