Power steering cooler mounting

Is it ok to mount it under the hood? It's to cool off the full hydro and is 18" long. Just wondering if it would melt anything or would it not get so hot.
 
It would be more beneficial to mount it in front of the radiator if you can find the space. That is a heat sink design that would be more beneficial not having to deal with the extra heat from the engine.
 
Mines (old Ferd stacked plate tranny cooler) under the hood for a couple reasons...

  • That's where I has room :lol:
  • Did *NOT* want it adding to the heat already coming off the tranny cooler in front of the rad

OTOH, my underhood real-estate is likely double that of a CJ/XJ... :flipoff2:
 
I don't have room in front of my radiator. But it would fit under the hood. My engine bay is not totally closed in either so maybe it would work out. Or put it under the body somewhere?
