My 86' 4runner has a 4.3 ltr in it and the power steering pump appears to be a GM power steering pump. It had sit for awhile and the other day I put some fluid in it and found me a belt that would fit and all was going to be great. But when I cranked it up I had nothing so I pulled the cap off and there was alot of bubbles in the fluid and the pump was getting extremly hot. Pulley turns great. From what I have found through some research is that it could be a clogged line. So im posting on here to get some ideas and some thoughts about what might be wrong. Thanks for any advice. Oh and I'm in grave need of a radiator to cool it down coolant temp is about 220-240. So if you know anyone that might have one I would be grateful. Thanks guys you guys are a savior to me with this thing I read and have fixed pretty much every problem I have had so far so once again thank you guys for all the help.

did you bleed the air out before you started it up for the first time?

if not (with engine off) put a jack under the front and lift tires off the ground. turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right about 20 times. recheck fluid and add as necessary.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice and naw I didnt do that first but am going to try it tomm. hopefully it will work and hope I didnt break the pump any way. But again thanks jeepman for the advice.
