So now that the cold is comin, once again, my window motor on the drivers side seems to want to act messed up!
After rolling the window down when i bring it back up it seems to not want to go as fast as it does when its cold outside. Also sometimes it will stop comin up. After about 15 seconds i can then roll it up.
This only happens when its cold outside. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. It done this since i got it almost 4 years ago. Oh, and its a 2002 Chevrolet S10.
thanks for any responses.

Have you ever replaced the window motor? Sounds to me its the window motor overheating therefore not allowing it to roll all the way back up & if your having to let it sit for 15 seconds or so thats giving it enough time to cool down so it'll work again. I don't know how the cold weather would affect it though.

See thats the thing it ONLY happens when its cold out, below 50 or so. Thats why i dont think its the window motor.

Im open to all opinion but maybe im just too stupid to realize what yall are really tryin to say, cause what would make this happen only when its cold even though when its warm the motor works perfectly?
Can anyone explain
thanks guys.

The motor has to work harder in the cold as the grease is hard on the regulator. x2 on what chase said!

Thanks guys, i dont know a damn thing bout power windows other then mine suck when its cold outside.

Metal expands in heat and contracts in cold.
When it contracts tolerances are reduced in the scissor mechanism, increasing friction, and in turn force needed to raise the window.

As stated this increased force heats the motor, trips, and then after reset can start again.

can try lubing up the rubber moldings aroung the window also that will help somtimes too
