Hoping we have some Lineman or people that know about the insulators.

I came across two really cool old insulators at the flea market. don't have a picture with me, but I'll post one later.

what I like about them is that they have a cast iron curly Q that suspends from out the bottom of the glass that the wire would wrap around. I'm turning them into light fixtures and wouldn't mind finding out about them and where I can find more like them.

Any knowledgeable people on this subject on here?

A buddy of mine comes from a line of....well....linemen. Post some pics! He comes across old stuff from time to time and has acquired some of it over the years.

We have about 200 different ones... I will dig around at moms and see if i can find the wooden crates they are in.

I found some in the woods one time that sound similar. Are yours brown porcelain?

^^ that's way older than any I've ever seen! I worked at a power company for a while, doing reconducts, pole replacements, and I've seen some old stuff usually in peoples backyards that's been there since the 60s but that looks like it should be in a museum!

Strain or "deadend bells" insulator. 30s-40s era. Clevis on the end is where you deadend the wire to it using a 2 bolt clamp to secure it. Dad has a few that are porcelain.
