This is a new 08 F-250 a customer brought us last week. The cage is built to NHRA standards out of 1.75 .095 4130 chromoly and TIG welded. The truck makes about 750-800hp on nitrous and is pretty darn quick.
Its a bare minimum drag cage and the owner requested that we cut through the cab and leave the factory glass in the back. Ill put some better pictures up after we get it finished up this morning.

looks good .. it may be a little late but we used some rubber grommets from 2" trailer lights to make a nice finish were we put some 1.75 through a cab. props to whoever take a new truck and starts hacking on it..

I'm completely impressed! Love the frame connections and the through-the-cab tubing (have considered that for my shortbed).

What are the mods on this thing?

Thanks!
I just built the cage in it and that's it, he owns a diesel performance shop so there's no need for me to do anything in that area. He heads to Kentucky Friday to race and hopefully he may be able to hit high 10s this weekend.

nice work as usual alex. why is it solid mounted to the frame though? wont that fight the body bushings?

I didn't want there to be any issues with the NHRA inspectors. It probably would have been okay but I just wanted to be sure.
Once he gets the new turbos on he should be in the 10s no problem.

I thought all rollbars/cages had to be tied into the frame to pass inspection

know the weight of that thing?

You are right. I dont think Metto was asking why it was mounted to frame, but rather why it was hard mounted, with no bushing.

I understood Jon, I should have given more of a explanation. I'm not a master of the NHRA rule book by any means but like I said I didn't want any issues, especially in the short amount of time we had to get it done. They were very specific on using 4 bolts to tie it into the frame. I wasn't sure about going from 4 bolts down to 1 bolt with a bushing as a tie in, and how legit that would be. We plan on getting the truck back anyway whenever he has to step up to a full cage so if I can change it I'll do so then.

ok, I see where the statement was coming from

AFAIK all cages are hard-mounted... now if anyone wants to show otherwise I would appreciate it (learnin, son.)
