Hi fellow wheelers! My name is Dustin and am a big wheeln' fan. I am currently in the middle of building my 88 toyota and have ruptured my l5-s1 disc in my back for a second time in three years. I will be haveing surgery on it tommorow (8-24-10) and would love it very much if you guys will keep me in your prayers and thoughts. I have been in alot of pain the past month and not able to work. I will be out of work for atleast another 6-8 weeks. I hope to have a full recovery and able to9 finish my truck by the end of the year. Still probably wont be able to wheel though until next spring or so due to the weak disc and i have been very depressed about this! Until then, thanks for your thoghts and wish me a speedy recovery! Happy wheeln' to all of you and dont forget to thank god for your health because you never know when it can be taken away at any moment. happy:driver:

Dustin, sorry to hear it. Back problems are the worst! We'll be praying for a successful surgery and a full recovery! Hope to see you on the trails real soon!

I know how you are feeling, hope all goes well...

thank you for the prayer request guys and i will be keeping you informed on my recovery in the upcoming weeks! It is nice to be apart of a hobby that has great people in it that care as much about others as they do thereselves. Thank you all!!!

Good luck tomorrow and I hope you have a quick recovery. I know what your saying because my brother-in-law is dealing with the same thing but he won't commit to surgery. Keep us posted...

Thank you all for the prayers! I had a succesfull surgery today and am at home resting and recovering! Doc said that he had to remove alot of disc material and said it will be weak and easy to re-injure. Also said that it would not be a good idea to go 4wheeln 4 along time if ever. Not very thrilled about that but hope to rehab and be back on the trails again in the spring. Cant let something like pain keep u down and ruin your life right! Thanks again guys! By the way... Morphin is awesome. Tryed to get the nurse to take $20 bucks and slipme some more but she wasnt buying it! lol

Two days out of surgery now and i am feeling much better already! No more sharpe pain in lower back and no numbness in my right leg. Surgeon did a awesome job! Anybody facing back surgery i highly recomend Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine center in Charlotte, nc. They make a small cut in the back and go in and scope out the ruptured part of the disc to get it off the nerves which causes all the bad pain and numbness. Quick recovery time and it works!!
