My buddy Jay wrote this for FourWheeler and it was just posted on their website. I drove out and did the trip with the group in late August/early September. It was a great trip. If you have ever thought of doing the Grand Canyon this is how I recommend experiencing it:

That's the type of wheeling I live for. If I knew anyone taking trips like that regurally, I wouldn't drag my ass building anything.

Andy, my buddy that sets up these trips in Arizona each year, puts a ton of work into the pre-runs and logistics. I think he starts about 6-8 months ahead of time to get them tuned in before a run. He has been doing it for 16 years now. I also wheel with another group that does a big week-long run each year. Definitely a motivating factor in keeping my rig in ready-to-run condition.
