Ok we all know that tacos have a better value than KBB . Even more for those not in the rust belt. I have found a one owner base model single cab with a not to grandpa camper shell. The specs are 2003 160k 5 speed 2.7 with a supposedly lsd rear ( I know odd will check door codes tomorrow). Owner was older and has passed. It is all stock with some light cosmetic issues on outside ( it is over 10 yrs I expect that) .
They are at 6k I can not find anything in 500 miles close to that price .
Is this fair or do I just really want another 4x4?
Please and Thankyou

I recently viewed a 2002 GMC listed by the owner for 6K. Didn't know the mileage at the time, so I used 100K as my search on Kbb, & other sites. I thought it was closer to 5 - 55K. Asked my dealer friend, & he told me for the Charlotte area, it was priced very fair, & the books are low for this area, on a clean truck. Two days later when I had time to return & dicker on it, it was already Sold. Never advertised, just saw it in a yard with a fro sale sign on it. {Lucky Butt}

Look up kbb on 7.3 crew 4x4 Diesel truck or excursion..... No fucking clue

I left it on the lot. Solid mechanicals and frame just a tad to rough for me. I offered 3500 he would not go that low. It is at lake Norman imports if anyone is interested.

I don't know the purpose of KBB. It sucks and isn't accurate at all. NADA is what banks/insurance companies go by and it actually keeps up with the real value and current trending prices of vehicles.

If I look up my 02 2500HD, LT crew cab, short bed, Duramax with 240k miles it's 8500 on KBB and 14,500 on NADA.

I looked up a 2003 Tacoma base 2wd 5 speed with 160k miles. NADA is 6500 clean retail.

KBB bought NADA or other way around. Seems you can't look up one without getting sent to KBB. My dealer uses the BLACK book, if he ever needs it. It's averaged on the auction price in your local region, not nationwide. Maybe only for dealers or pick up at Auction House???

I work out of town. if it is on your everyday passage could you snap me some pics? hit me up on PM
