Printer help

Need some help with my printer at home.

HP office jet 7500a.

Changed ink cartridges and cleaned the print head according to Hp website.

Won't print any black ink.

All the colors work fine.

If I screenshot a text file, and print as photo on glossy paper, everything prints fine.

Take the same file and print as a document or excel file, or webpage, or as Image on plain paper, and it only prints color no black ink.

Googled a bunch and no luck, wanted to see if anyone has any ideas.

Basically prints fine if it thinks it printing on glossy paper.
Select plain paper and no black ink output.

I'd try reloading the drivers straight from HP. Go to support.hp.com => click on "Software and Drivers" => Enter your model number and download the drivers. Or you could just click: HP Software and Driver Downloads for HP Printers, Laptops, Desktops and More | HP® Customer Support

Been a couple times in the past, that I cleared mine up, by "un-installing" the download, & then "install download". Then lately, I started having trouble with it loading the paper. Right about the same time, Microsoft switched me to Windows 10. THANKS [No] Printer went Crazy! I had to download the Windows 10 program/driver, for my HP printer. That cleared up most of the problems, but is still Quirky. It doesn't like the 10, & I DON"T EITHER.
I was surprised how helpful the HP site is, as I had never used it. I Agree with john-n-peg.

yep. 10 years as an office equipment tech.

sounds like a driver issue.
