Anybody know anything about them. I think they are/were out of North Carolina.

I am looking at an 18 footer.

the most famous privateer boat in NC was the Queen Anne's revenge. dont think you can afford her though. lol.

Bellhaven NC. looks like a bare bones nothing fancy 18 footer, used, will run ya 5 grand or so.

Privateer is a decent boat, built well, but has wood in them so be sure to check for rot, and transom strength.. What year? The fit and finish sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. its a utility boat, not a lot of bling.

Wood

Wood, ehhh. Been there done that.

Assuming it hasn't rotted apart, what you guys think this thing is worth. Still trying to find out the year on the hull and motor.

18' Privateer Center Console fishing boat. 110 HP Johnson outboard runs well. Color GPS, fishfinder, VHF.

Without knowing the year which is a very big deal in pricing something..... I'd say 3500 maybe.... The decals on the motor make it look like its about a 92-93... Those 110 V4s are pretty decent engines, but theres a lot on that engine you will have to look into to make sure its sound being that old... You need to get service records for it, take a sample of the gear lube, check the trim/tilt system, check for piston pin wear, see when the water pump was changed last, trim the motor down, stand on the cavitation plate wiggle, see what the transom does, i'd be really careful, a boat like that could be a battleship and bullietproof or a nickle dime knightmare... Not to mention all the electronics mounted on the dash, means their longetivity is very questionable, loos like a raymarine/apelco VHF, humming bird or lorance fish finder, and a latemodel garmin gps... the only thing thats worth a crap on the dash is the garmin unit. Not to mention you compass is worthless next to all those electronics.

I would rather have a Parker than a Privateer - but that doesn't answer the question. Boattrader is a good source for comparables on the asking prices for boats. You can search nationwide and regional.

Privateer is a decent boat. Its no Grady White or Parker, but for the $$$, its a good boat. As said earlier, the fit and finish is nothing top notch, but its still a decent boat. The shop in Bellhaven looks like an old factory that is falling apart and is quite the sight.
