well to not waste money going through programmers later on what do you do with your trcuk and what are you wanting to get out of the programmer?such as do you tow alot just want more power or going for just mpgs?I have ran 3 different ones on my 03' 5.9 cummins. When I first bought my truck the guy had a diablo predator and I have to say for the money it was awesome if you not planning on doing many mods on your truck. It gave it almost 200 extra hp and I would run it on extreme mode and as long as i wasnt getting on the skinny pedal too much I was getting around 21 mpgs on 37" tires! then I had the edge w attitude with the monitor which was nice for guages(since I didnt have them at the time) and could recalibrate your speedo for bigger tires and such. You could also set saftey parameters so your truck would start defueling before you harmed your motor. Now since I have a bigger turbo/injectors and want more power I am running a smarty POD and MAN this thing is AWESOME! You can get crazy power out of a smarty and it adjust your timing on different setting, plus on certain settings I still get great mpgs!

The best way to learn since you have th 6.7 is to get on cumminsforum.com its an awesome site!

haha!wow didnt even read that right at all thought u said 6.7 and then I didnt even see you said HEMI LOL!My bad!

I haven't heard anything about them but edge makes one just for fuel economy, what year is it because I know for a fact the newer ones are pretty respectable in the gas mileage section. With me driving in my uncles crew cab 10 with the hemi I got 21mpg. I will say the way you drive and the crap you carry around makes a big difference in fuel economy.

IMO and what i was tought in school programmers for a gasser are really a waste of money, the only real thing you can adjust if i remember is your shift times on the tranny maybe some fuel trims if ya get something fancy BUT you need a laptop and you need to know what your doing. you get AWESOME performance outta a diesel cause from the factory they are "detuned". again IMO if ya want performance or better towing id say just spend the money in gearing.

everyone has their own opinions but personally i would rather keep $400 and spend it on something else over a programmer you wont see MUCH improvement in

I ran a superchips in my 03 hemi. I used it for adjusting the shift points since I towed 8-10k with it. I found I gained about 1 mpg in fuel economy and couldn't feel a difference at all in the seat. When I ran it on the gas mileage program I didn't notice any change in mpg or performance either. The shift points were noticeable though. I left mine in "tow mode" 24/7. In fact, I forgot to set it back to factory when I traded it in and now my programmer is a paper weight unless I spend another $100 to reset it. F U Superchips! (sorry, side tangent there.)

Anyways, if you're wanting fuel economy or performance, don't waste your money on a programmer with a gasser.

Thanks for the replys ! I do not want to waste 200+ on something that will only give me 1-2 mpg differance! I knew this was not gonna be GREAT on gas when I bought it, but just wanted some more IF I could get it ! I only tow a little sami most of the time !
