This is my 96 Tacoma, We made up the name Comatoast; "The state of mind in which you own a badass truck that isn't a jeep." There may have been a little bit of alcohol involved when naming the truck but what ever it stuck.
It all started out as getting a new daily to keep miles off my lightning then it went off the wall.
First things first, I put on a toytec coil over front, total chaos upper control arms, and aal in the rear, got some 33x10.50 KM2's, 4.88 gears and a lockrite in the rear. It was fun but went to pull a buddy out of a mud hole and it was way to stiff!
I added a all-pro rear bumper, trail-gear front bumper, bud built skid plate, CBI sliders and tire carrier. I only have a pic of the rear bumper but the rest is still on the truck, they will be in later pics
At that time I started to collect parts do SAS the truck, Dana 44 out of a waggy, Chromo shafts, spartin locker in the front, warn premium hubs, 5.38's, custom long spline drive shaft, rancho 44044's with two leaves removed, high steer with heim joints, trail gear frame plates front and rear, 5.29's in the rear, lockrite in the rear, chevy 63's with a aal and 6in shackle (changing to 4in), FROR crossmember, marlin crawler clutch, 37x12.50x16 creepy crawlers. Im sure im missing some stuff. I then took everything loaded in the back of the truck down to Josh at Universal Automotive to do the swap. He did an awesome job and was very fair with the pricing.
It was a little tall when I got it back, 29in to the bottom of the frame under the front body mount.
I added a snorkel, why because I can. But I will say if I have water that high up im going to have alot more problems
Back to the truck sitting high. We pulled some leaves out and put a shorter shackle on the rear to drop it down. Now the truck sits at 26 1/2 at the front body mount and 27 at the rear.
We also were sitting around bored on saturday and decided to do a bob job on her.
Thats all for now ill update it as we go
