Project Doubleyou-Jay

Nice build. I have a 2000 WJ I am looking to build soon, how do you like that lift kit from Rusty's?

I have been pleased with rustys as the lift kit and customer service go, there's a few things that I've noticed that made me glad I did the install myself though. I'm sure any brand lift will have the same little bugs to work out. As far as the function of the lift it kicks ass, I've had many compliments on the ride quality both on and off road. And not to hurt any jk owners feelings I've been told by several jk owners that the ride is better. Just sayin. It flexs like crazy and rides like a cadillac.

Thank you for the input.

You have any plans on going with bigger axles in the future?

Thats the axle combo I am looking at doing. Just need to justify $4000-$5000 for axles to the wife lol.

Lol.

You going junk yard build or purposely built axles?

Well it's been a while since any updates, really haven't added anything to it other than like 4 or 5 front axle shafts, couple hub assemblies, bushings and such. I've been wheeling the hell out it, that's for sure...

Here's a couple pictures from the past weekend on the RTI ramp and obstacle course at the Santa's for Soldiers event in Mooresville yesterday.

well after a season of beating on the stock 30/35 combo its time for them to go....HP dana 44 from 76 ford, and a 9 " from something ford going in soon. ill post as building progresses. i have a bunch going on in my shop to get done before i can even touch my own junk.

:beer::huggy::rockon:Birthday presents are the best!

So i decided to go a different route on axles. I sold the 44HP and 9", and started to build a 14 bolt i had.
@Barnes 4wd supplied truss, pinion guard, shave cover and disc brake brackets, autozone rotors and calipers (diamond level pricing helps) @ecgs supplied 5.13s and install kit, np231 w/ sye installed, used my front Tom Woods driveshaft in rear.

Front build up coming soon.

Also wheels and tires are ford pattern rollers i had, i have a set of 17s and gonna run Gladiator X Comps 37"

Tank has been tucked 4"

Let me know if you want to sell those rollers and wheels. Looking awesome man!

* update*
Fromt axle needs LCA mounts, trac bar mount, sway bar and steering stabilizer mounts to be finished with bracketry.

Have new Warn hubs for it. Its been geared 5.14 and spiders are lincoln locked.

Gladiators (37x13.50x17) are ordered and should be here 7/7.

Weld racing 17s i picked up from my brother have been black tinted and clear coated ready for tires..

Sooooo......hopefully in the next 10 days ill have axle swap done with fresh tires. Working on new bumper for front.

All thus is being done in preparation for the 36 hours of uwharrie in august.

Just need to whip up some coil spring retainers and trim the fenders some. Happy with how it turned out

I think I saw you driving up near 4WP the other day. I saw a big WJ and as I got closer I could see the big axles and all.

Looks great! I have been looking at building up a WJ a bid milder than this, but with something like this in mind for a more final stage.
