FINALLY! no more fooling with these spring packs! i've finally got my wheelbase where i want it, my ride height where i want it, and my steering just about done (until i add the hydro assist, that is)

springs are XJ's front and rear. The rears have one leaf out of my 3.5" yj superlift springs in each. The fronts have two leafs out of my front superlift 3.5" springs in each. It rides great.... SHOULD flex great.... and it looks cool all "low" imo... but it kind of sucks when the trucks i used to look down into are now sitting higher than me :( hehe

it's sitting at 106.75" WB. neither the front, nor the rear spring hangers, are in their stock locations.... nor are the shackle hangers, obviously. i tried to manipulate the shackle angles to get my suspension working better offroad and hopefully i'll see how it worked out this weekend......

steering is also changed.... was running the parts mike setup which worked great except for a couple small issues... dropped the suspension and stretching the front made using his setup impossible b/c of pitman arm / tie rod clearance so i'm now running my drag link to his passenger side arm and my tie rod between the knuckles. 1 ton chevy tre's on the drag link. 3/4" heims from ballistic on the tie rod. (pay no attention to my drag link in the pics, that was temporary for mocking up the steering)

-Erik <--- going to start planning the cage this week

PS- as you can see, the 2" body lift never left.... it looks like if i want to keep my drivetrain tucked up the way it is in the pics i'll have to keep the body lift. i could probably trim it down to an inch and a half or so but it's not worth the work imo....

Im sure its not finished.... but before you take it wheeling I would strongly recomend some spring clamps.

Props for not doing a shackle reversal when you had the opportunity; it takes a real man for that. Hahaha (I did the same thing)

Looks good!

Thanks :driver:

oh :poop: i knew i forgot something! j/k, spring clamps are definalty coming soon. i was going to actually start looking for some tomorrow..... if anyone has any recomendations on where to buy them or what type to run i would be very greatful.

the thought crossed my mind a few times... and since on-road behavior is very important to me i seriously considered it.... but for whatever reason, i decided against it. am i a moroon for passing on the perfect opportunity to SRS the thing?

Rig looks great. A few inches in height reduction can make a big difference in stability.

to be perfectly honest, the jeep was more stable with the 3.5" superlift springs on the road than it is now with these... but it rides MUCH MUCH better now also.... i'll let you know how things go in the offroad/off camber department in the next week or so. i expect the results will be pretty awesome! now if only i coudl win the lottery and pay you to put fox's or saw's on all 4 corners :)

-Erik <---- was really hoping someone woudl give me an excuse to use that new smiley

Mixed reviews on the shackle reversal. It just depends on who you talk to. You have to either french your shackle hangers into the frame or make your spring hangers quite a ways down from the frame to get a nice pinion angle, but it may drive better on the road. I've talked to a few people and have gotten a few different opinions, so I just stuck with the way I had it.
