Well i got tired of the POS floor in the ride, decided to make some changes...

Tomorrow i will be cutting the floor panels from the 4x8 1/8th plate sitting in the shop.

Will be made from 5 pieces.
-Floor
-Sides x2
-Top/Shifter mount base

Floor will be bolted to allow access to belly pan and T-case/Tranny

The original access panel will be trimmed and re-used

Sheet metal will be formed to seal gap at firewall and floor.

looking for some opinions in finishing this up.

The side panels are removable and need to remain that way.

Im looking for some input on some finishing touches. The gap behind the shifter mounting surface will be the switch panel location, and looking at doing a couple of gauges in front of the shifter...

ideas?
 
yea im thinking about that.
A little console in front of the shifter, hide the cable and house some gauges...
 
I'm going to redo part of the floor in my toyota...but I'm goin to do a 1"square tube base with AL bolted to it. You floor is beef but it's going to be heavy.
 
eh, its not all THAT heavy. Especially not compared to the rockwells that are about to be sitting under it :flipoff2:

but i hear ya, CoG shouldnt be affected that much from the small portion that was done.

the rear portion of the jeep will not be getting the same treatment. The floors will remain mostly constructed of the factory stamped sheet metal, with modifications being done to the inner fender wells in order to clear the 44s w/o massive lift.

PS- If i was starting with a lightweight rig like a yota id be all about some AL, but since my jeep was born a pig its gonna stay that way ;)
