I've been having an internal debate about tow rigs the last 2 years while slowly as hell building my k5. Now I've managed to acquire a set of 3/4 ton axles, another 4spd trans/NP208 tcase, driveshafts from the same truck, springs, flat top GM knuckle, Pittman arm, draglink and bungs. Had a buddy over that noticed all this stuff and he gave me the idea of SAS a 2wd '95-'00 GM 2500/3500 truck. I don't need a new fancy fast diesel, and all I really need now are the SAS brackets, steering arm, and the truck. I'm wondering if subconsciously I knew I wanted to do that, lol.
Im going after another project car tomorrow and actually have a complete parts car already that was bought last year for the motor to be put in my old truck. some how i have accidentally ended up with about 12 projects.
Yep. When I find deals on good stuff, I buy it. Right now I've got a 4.10 2nd gen 14 bolt, 4.10 sd 60 front, 78 Ford np205, 4 sets of 8 on 170 wheels, etc. Not one of those items did I pay more than $200 for. Just chilling here waiting. Bought mainly as spare parts but could easily start a buggy build at the drop of a hat. Next time I end up at certain junkyards, I'll be picking up a few complete LS engines because, ya know....
Girlfriends dad has a bunch of "Farm art". The most recent being the "V8, 4spd CJ7 in rough condition" that he was given by a neighbor and he wants me to help him pick it up tomorrow...I feel like depending on its overall condition, that I need to do my due diligence to not let it become more farm art even if it sits in the back corner of the barn for a little while til I can get to it. I could walk through his shop, barn and basement at any given time and have a new project.
