Shopping for a torch to keep walkway and driveway weeds at bay. We are on a well, and I would prefer to avoid sprays if possible.

I had bought the IdealGas torch from Northerntool a few years ago but it was not happy running on a 20 gallon tank. Maybe I got a dud, but it would run in bursts of high BTU output followed by a tiny flame until pressure built up in the tank again.

Anyone have any good torch recommendations that work on a 20lbs. or 30lbs. tank?

I bought the harbor freight one for the same reason it works great. But I’m going to go back to spray I think. It kills them but doesn’t stop new ones at all like spray.

They sell two different ones at HF, I got the more expensive one, longer torch, hose, and an igniter. You can also dial it so as to have a very hot flame or less of a flame..So far I have liked how it works, and I have went through about 4 20 pound tanks through it. I did find it went further if I used the sal/vinegar and dawn solution to kill the weeds first. With them dried up it burns them all quick.

I bought the one Lowes carried in the store this summer. I've only used it to start brush piles but it works great. Can feather it down to barely anything of turn it up to a jet engine roar.
