proper snow driving techniques

down here.... stay home... its usually the other people that are the problems.

Things like maintain your speed and some momentum are useless when the idiot in front of you stops and is spinning to get going again..

my advise is stay home, drink beer...

and fornicate

Drive like you have no brakes, and an egg under the gas pedal. Slow down with lil brake and lil gearing. Don't follow too close. Less air pressure in tires help a lot.
remember a spinning/sliding car/truck has no steering

Use common sense. Add extra distance from the vehilce around you. If the roads are slushy try to run in the tracks of the other vehicles have (be care as this is where ice will form first). Act as though you have your most prized pocession (mine would be my kids) in the vehicle with you and the seat belts are not working. Do not lock up you your brakes even if you have ABS they can slide. When taking off from a dead start ease into the throttle if you start to spin either feather the gas or tap your brakes with can help ditribute power from the spinning wheel to the other side.

BIGGEST THING IS USE COMMON SENSE AND WATCH FOR THE OTHER GUY.

Tried to go driving in the buggy but it wouldn't start, first off the main kill switch under the seat was bad, so I hotwired that, then the battery was dead (good ol' Optima's), tried to jump it but no luck. Guess it just doesn't like cold weather (although I drove it last time it snowed). I actually drove it around the neighborhood last night, but for some reason it wouldn't run today.

Drove the wifes 4-runner to Lowes and Wal-mart, but it isn't much fun, takes WAY too much throttle to kick it sideways since it doesn't have a rear locker, and I gotta be careful cause it might not get itself out of a ditch :D

what to do when someone's riding your ass is the snow? give it more throttle and sling the wheel!

Break check them it will scare the crap out of them they will back off.

As for driving in snow always remember your brake is your enemy, remember to turn into the skid and use the throttle to drive out of.

I was messing around and crashed into the light pole at the ABC. That's what they get for being closed!!

I spent all day crusing the slick roads. To my surprise, there were very few folks stuck and in need of a tow.

I did hook up to a tractor trailer and yank him up into a parking lot. His empty flat bed was still in the road and the tractor was spinning on the slight incline. Took a few hard yanks but it worked.

Then I hooked up with BigRedB2 and we rode for a while. He looked nervous at times while I drifted while going to fast.

Good fun!
