I got this PS pump today to use for my hydro assist then full hydro....but I think I might have got the wrong one. If I did then i can take it back.

It has one high pressure line and then 2 lowpressure lines....which input do I use and what do I do with the other one?

Im running the same pump on my 78 F150. The 3/8 nipple is the return from the cooler/ram/steering gear box. The 5/8 nipple goes to an external reservoir. You can run a fancy reservoir from psc or someone like that or you can do what i did and snag a factory reservoir from a 97-99 or so ford E150-E350 van with a v8 The reservoir and bracket just bolt to the radiator support and are easy to grab in a yard. The E150 reservoir has two nipples on it also a 3/8 that my hydro-boost goes to which you could cap off and a 3/4 that goes to the 5/8 nipple on the pump (you'd have to adapt the 5/8 and 3/4 hoses together.)

The e150 reservoir holds almost a quart by itself and is plenty for my ram assist but it may not be quite enough for full hydro.

You can mod that pump using instructions from west texas offroads site (search for redneck ram or west texas offroad). They give good instructions on how to bump up the pressure and flow in that pump. I can steer my old ford with one finger sitting still on rough concrete with 42X15X16.5 TSLs

I dont know what kind of bracket your running but if there is not a bolt in the bottom right(red) plug you will need to plug that hole. I was running this pump with hydro assist until i burned it up at river rock last fall and the local oreilly didnt stock it. I am now back to another style stock gm pump which i burned up at harlan 2 weeks ago. For some reason me and ps pumps hate each other.

What kind of cooler are you using? I have a decent sized rezv and I'm going to put a cooler in there too.

my cooler is a 2"x10" but when I change out pump this week I am planning to go with a small tranny cooler and I think the size is 8"x12"

napa power steering pump number 818474.

This is the pump I used but it came off a G30 van. Looks to be the same pump

FWIW - You can swap that can onto a similar year pump. The spacing/bolt size (metric) are slightly different on the older ones.. 91+ ish Astro Van application, also use the remote fill reservoir. To swap the can, remove all the bolts and pressure port/outlet and gently pull the can off. Reman pump usually comes with new o-ring..

I'm using a random one that came with my toyota...I think Metto said it came from a SABB. I know that it's bigger than my speedway motors one.
