Damn are you serious that they used it in American graffitti too?? I was going to guess it but I thought it didn't look quite right

Yup, they used it in Two Lane Blacktop first. Can you name the 2 musicians who played the driver and the mechanic?

First ones easy! Answer and post up your entry.

Good thread, Scott!
I read a neat article on George Barris in Hot Rod Deluxe a while back. He was the ultimate self promoter with the stars. He even did some stupid looking Mustangs for Sonny and Cher. He would start with a model car and sell the concept to them off of that. The Monkee mobile, Bat Mobile, the Munster coach and coffin car were his biggest hits. He started the business model that Orange County Choppers follows today. If you were promoting a show or product, you had a car by him. If his car was the star of the show, he went all out.
Notice the skull gear shift knob above? Think about how many skull car accessories have been made since he started it.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Starsky and Hutch, Mad Max, Repo Man - Great Stuff.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang pioneered the dove tail/boat tail!
The kid catcher in that movie really scared my kids when they were little.

Someone in Kannapolis has a dead on copy of the Starsky and Hutch car, stripe and all.

The truck and one above I don't know.

Best Fall Guy video EVER -
