Hey guys I just bought a dixie air horn for my 1978 cj5. I have no clue how to hook this thing up. I want to use it as a seperate horn not my main one so i got an extra button to use. Has anyone ever put one on before and can give me some help or even better yet any one live near winston salem that wouldn't mind coming up and helping me put it on. Let me know what you guys know. Thanks

Just get a switch and a relay, wire up the compressor and mount the horns and then run the tubing from each outlet to the size horn it is supposed to go to. Did it not come with instructions?

I cracker patched a bracket to hang the horns from the underside of my hood. This was the most difficult part of the whole thing.

IIRC mine came with everthing but the wiring and it didn't come with enough tubing.

I booty fabbed some slotted brackets to mount the horns on, 3 above, 2 below, then put this whole mess on the fender next to the starter relay. I like the hood bracket up ther, wish I thought of that.

I seem to remember having to hit the orange depot for some plastic tubing. The nipples on the compressor and horns had color coded rings around them to show you the tube routing.

I bought a generic replace-a-horn button. The thing I didnt like about it was the horn only played as long as you held the button, sounds kind of obvious in hindsight. If you want to play the whole tune, you have to hold the button for hte whole song. It would'v been nice if I could just tap the button and the entire song would play.

hey rbo since you live in winston would you be willing to help me mount my horn like you did on your jeep. I can pay you a little something for your time and I guess buy you a hot dog or something. Just let me know.

anybody willing to help me make a bracket and mount my dixie horn on my cj. I would pay you little to help me out. I don't know much about electrical stuff. Let me know if anyone can help. I live close to Winston salem.
