Been working weekends on a carpet job at a remodeled Days Inn. 75 rooms total. Each room is 24 ft long. The Main steps going up are non existent. There are some narrow temp. steps, but they're to narrow to safely carry heavy carpet up. So...I brought the jeep to work today. Worked flawlessly!

This carpet job is tackstripped and stretch in, over heavy duty padding, not glued down.
Used a leaf blower on parking lot..but it didn't move all the pebbles. Not to worry, they don't stick to this carpet backing, especially on cooler overcast days.

Why exactly does the manual of my warn winch say to not do this? Liability? Wear out the drum brake prematurely?

They're afraid you might drop something on someone's head. When the load is in the air, it's far too easy to flip the free spool switch, allowing the carpet...ooops, I mean"load" to fall and scare the hell out of your helper...oooops, I mean..sombody.

I did it. Step ladder on 3rd floor balcony. Wrapped it around the exposed beam.
