Question about GM air ride suspension

I have a 2004 Yukon XL Denali which has the auto ride or air ride suspension (can't remember what it is exactly called). The rear air bags on the shocks are blown and the compressor is not turning on any more. I have priced new air ride shocks and a new compressor but these items are not cheap. I ran accross a kit from Arnott industries that deletes the air ride suspension and replaces it with new springs in the rear and new bilstein shocks at all four corners.

My question is, are these air ride suspensions problematic, and it would be a good idea to delete it? Is it a good factory option and it would be a good idea to retain it? Looking for any opinions and experience.

Are air rides inherently problematic?

depends on the system. i wouldn't say they are consistently problematic but cost vs replacement to fix them is the deciding factor. i've been replacing them for over 15 years in certain cars and don't know that i've ever had a complaint about the conversion. as you know, the less parts it takes to make something to work, the less there is to go wrong.

there is a place in roxboro called strutmasters, i use them all the time to replace problematic air ride issues. much cheaper and trustworthy compared to air ride.

X2 for strutmasters. We've installed several of their kits at work. They have an awesome tech line if you have problems too. Since they're local we get the kits next day usually too.
