Bought a set of longs, ran them for a while, then the stock hub broke and stripped the splines off the end of the long. I know now!!.... that I needed to buy the upgraded hub rings.....but I didn't know before.

I called bobby and he said that stripping the splines was the only thing he didn't warranty ......I thought lifetime warranty meant lifetime warranty....I didn't know there was fine print.

Is there anything I can do?

Its not really fine print...it says it on there that You MUST have his cromo hubs in order for him to warranty the longs due to hub breakage.

His warranty is one of the best in the business and he could easily not offer it. If you BREAK a longfield he will warranty it no matter what. You didnt break one...you broke a hub and it stripped your longfield. Thats not failure of the longfield, thats failure of a hub and it took out the long.

Theres not really much you can do other than buy a new longfield and buy the hub gears. You shouldnt have any issues with them if you put the hub gears in it. At that point there isnt much you can do, breakage wise, that he wont warranty (other than install them wrong or drive around on a bent housing).

Well i dont usually half ass things.....if he would have told me to get the hubs, i would have.
But he didn't!
So i didn't know

And no i dont want to weld my $700 longs to my hub gears!
