I need to change the fluids on my new 86 chevy truck.
It's got the 305, 700r4 and 208. How much oil, tranny fluid, and whatever goes in the transfer case do I need to buy from the store?
what does the tcase use, gear oil or tranny fluid?

and my rear axle has the gov lock, what gear lube should I use?
thanks
Mike

oil 5 quarts
Tranny, depends on how you flush it
NP208 uses ATF
Between the 2 you will need somewhere between 6 and 20 quarts

ill let someone else chime in on the rear. Ive personally always used reg RE grease even on gov bombs....Ive heard others say not to.

Govloc ( G80) uses regular 80w90, but should have a friction modifier in it as well ( seperate additive) all available at most parts stores

Thanks for all the info.

why do you call it a gov bomb?

for the friction modifier, is that like the same stuff for a posi?
