i have been reading most of the threads and i just wanted to be sure because it wasn't expounded on alot. Can i run a dual triangulated 4 link on the front with crossover and hydro assist. It was mentioned on another thread that you needed full hydro to run this setup. But i was wondering is that opinion or fact and why

well without a panhard bar to keep the axle moving along with the drag link, there can be major bump steer issues, and thats the beauty of a track bar, it is easy to design correctly to eliminate bumpsteer

Like aw said, you WILL end up with bump steer.. how much can't be said for sure. Putting a panhard bar on a triangulated 4-link will create binding, so that's a no-no.

So.. either full-hydro, live with the bump steer (which is not advisable if you see street time and could create some interesting steering off-road too), or pick another design, like a non-triangulated 4-link + panhard...

thanks guys this vehicle will see no street time but bump steer sucks. So i will have to go with a panhard bar. That was the info that i needed thanks

Steering will be crisp and respond better plus less body roll over the steering axle with a panard. Just try to make the panard as long as possible to prevent the axle from drifting to the side as the suspension travels, it will be very obvious if it is real short, trust me on that one if I had more room mine would be king pin to kingpin.

i have also read that it needs to be as close as possible to the same angle as the drag link so they cycle through the suspension at the same time any other suggestions

Ideally, your panhard and draglink should be the same length and the same angle. Also, the preferred angle is zero degrees (parallel to the ground) and as long as possible to get the least amount of side to side movement when cycling. When I did the hi-steer on my TJ, I spent a lot of time getting all of this right. Mine are the same length (32"), and trackbar is within 2 degrees of parallel (it was parallel sitting in the shop during construction). The jeep does wander a bit as it goes down the road, but that has more to do with worn out bushings/ends in everything but the steering.
