Question for jeep mechanics on a 2006 commander

Alright I'm about to lose my mind on this POS lol. Been working on a 2006 Jeep Commander for a friend because they don't have the money right now to send it somewhere. Anyway from I'm told they had a problem with it being in limp mode. Codes were pulled and I think there were 2, a p0700 and p0750. So they bought the "solenoid pack" and asked me to put it on. Did everything by procedure, supposed to be a fairly simple job as far as dropping the valve body goes.
Everything is back together and now the damn thing won't shift into gear. By that I mean the shifter moves, the linkage and lever on the transmission move, but the dash indicator doesn't move from park and the vehicle will not physically go into gear. Has anyone seen this problem before and can lead me in the right direction? No engine light, and no codes are present if I turn the key, and of course I don't have a scanner with me to check. Any help would be appreciated.

Need to paint it pink and burn the biotch, but they won't let me.

Cross posted from jeep forum. Hope this is okay to do this

The P0700 DTC is just alerting you that there is a Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) (DTC) stored in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The P750 DTC is giving you an idea what might be wrong. Things you should do first are to check and correct (if necessary) the fluid level when transmission is hot. Also, check the fluid condition and give it a smell test. It should be red, or brown if it hasn't been serviced in a long time, and not smell burnt. When is the last time the transmission was serviced? Also, have the PCM/TCM read with a good scanner (some scanners won't read transmission codes) to see if there are any other codes.....stored, pending or active. Here's what some of the causes of the P0750 might be:

- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty Low Reverse solenoid valve
- Low Reverse solenoid valve harness is open or shorted
- Low Reverse solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection

Check fuses. Mitchell says p0750 is not an internal trans failure, but electrical open or short. Inspect wiring harnesses and all connectors

Assuming this is either a 4.7 or a Hemi with the 545RFE transmission.
When you reinstalled the valve body, did you make sure the range selector on the valve body aligned with the lever on the trans itself?

If all if the gear indicators are lit up, there us an electrical issue. If only the P is lit up, that tells you the PCM/TCM thinks it's in park.

My money is on the shift lever not aligned with the valve body (because I've done it before :) )

Know threads old but I'm in the same boat. Had to pay to have the transmission installed. It has to be unlocked and sinked to the jeep. Less than 5,000 miles the solenoid pack is bad in my rebuilt transmission.
