The base here in Italy has a very nice, very large garage for personal use. I'm willing to bet they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on completely outfitting it with all the cool toys. All their gear is Snap-on, which I thought was going to awesome.

It turns out it's not.

I talked to the shop manager, and apparently Snap-on (maybe a rep, maybe corporate, maybe random dude on the street) won't warranty their products overseas.

I find this very hard to believe considering how many photos I've seen online of garages in Iraq/Afghanistan outfitted with Snap-on stuff.

This garage has dozens of Snap-on tools that are broken. Including two of the biggest jacks I've ever seen.

Anyone have a contact, or information, on if/how the local garage can get some stuff warrantied?

Id contact snappy privately, he can proably assist.

I will state this..... The us gov buys at a discounted rate. I return for the discount the gov, as do industiral user, get no warranty. It's a trick deal but that is my understanding. I have called about items "aquired" from miltary bases and they are usually marked with a different number or a second stamp the gov uses, and yes at that point it becomes stolen goods( they also have a clause that they are not to auction off snapon tools at the sales).....
