Questions about meeting Class A requirements

As a disclaimer, I am brand new to this so please nobody jump my bones for asking a few stupid questions.

I recently purchased a rig hoping to race class A. I have read over the rulebook posted online and have a few questions about whether my jeep will meet the requirements.

1. my rig is an 88 jeep comanchee, but the previous owner installed an 8.8 rear end out of a ford. i was wondering whether i would be allowed to run in class A with the 8.8, or if i would have to find a dana 35 or other factory axle in order to compete.

2. this doesn't necessarily have to do with my jeep, but i was also curious if a fire suit is required to race in class A. i read somewhere in the rule book that it was required, but almost all the videos i have found online of class A races the drivers and co drivers are wearing street clothes.



Any imput will be greatly appreciated.

Yes you are legal with ur rig and yes a firesuit is required. You may be watching videos from the first season.

i'd recommend getting really familiar with the 2012 rule book. you are required to have a few fire extinguishers that are quick release, a winch, safety tool, and a whole lot more.
