Carpet in my '96 Tacoma is needing to be replaced. Do I go with vinyl or an aftermarket carpet kit? I'm not rolling bed liner or having it sprayed professionally, so those two options are out. Truck will be a DD and mild off roader for now. Any experiences or suggestions with those two options?

Vinyl floors are soooo much better than carpet. I have vinyl in my regular cab 99 Silverado and as soon as I get the chance, I'm replacing the carpet in my 02 crew cab Dmax with vinyl as well. I still keep floor mats on it to keep it from wearing out though.

I absolutely loved the vinyl in my old tow rig. Easy to clean, make look new and no worries about stains. With the correct padding underneath its beyond me why someone would want carpet in a pickup.

I* second the weather techs. Or just some other nice heavy duty thick floor mat.

I've got weather tech mats in my crew cab HD and still wish I had vinyl under it.
