Look like works going to bring me right by uwharrie within the next week or two... Since i dont have a capable rig anymore is anyone around there renting rigs to run through there? i know there is a place around tellico that does and they do it out in moab, just wondering if i was happening around ure...

Thanks

Valid point. Most of those would make it. Also, I drove by the jeep dealer in Siler City and they had one of the new 4 door TJ's sittin out there. Its less than an hour from Uwharrie, so you could "test drive" it.

a stock tj could do NEARLY all of URE on a dry day, so just rent one from any car rental place. Only downside is rentals are typically automatics. Maybe someplace would have a rubicon avail to rent.

I know of noplace that rents 'rigs' to take out and play. The demand and terrain just isn't in this area to make it a profitable buisiness

What's wrong with wheelin' an automagic?
i like being able to select a gear. and no worries of overheating it, and a manual is alot more durable/reliable.

Auto's have their place, just not in my trucks. Mud bogs, drag cars, and cruisers are a totally different story

Never heard of an auto "overheating" that wasn't accounted for by broken to begin with or a direct result of the radiator "tranny cooler" (IMO, more of a pre-heater than a cooler)

Reliable? My TH400 is 1 year shy of 40 years old, never been rebuilt, and even though it's been beat on pretty good in the last 5 years, always gets it done. I wish the other components had that good a track record...

Me thinks you should try a nice STEEP, LONG, SLOW climb... say Schoolbus with each... I'll have nice "crow" roasting here for you when you return! :D
