my new axles are sitting at the hub this morning 1/2 hour from my house, and I cannot pick them up before the scheduled delivery day...

NEXT TUESDAY !!!!

gaaaaahhh!

tried to have shipper do intercept/hold @ hub- they were stonewalled with the 'receiver can't p-up until scheduled delivery day' bs...

UPS is closed Thursday also (airs only)
Why?
Fuck knows! - it's not a holiday til midnight!!!

I am trying to wheel Friday, Sat, Sun; any ideas on how to get this done before end of business tomorrow?

go postal?

I really have nothing to add. Hope you get them in time.

go postal?

lol
I'm about to.

It's hard for me to understand why I need to wait a week from today when the item is sitting?

Example:

the other week i opened my email to an invoice from a vendor.
I had not ordered; they were sending me someone else's order by mistake.
Called vendor, they saw error, and was able to do an 'intercept' while on truck out for delivery!

So it's hard for me to understand why my shipper could not get them to 'intercept and hold' so I can pick up tomorrow...make zero sense to me.

Did you speak with a supervisor/manager? Seems ridiculous to me. They still get the shipping money but not have to make trip to your place. I'd be speaking nicely to a manager, then get a little bit more stern after getting a no. That would drive me insane that your parts are 30 minutes away and holding you from a weekend of wheeling. You should be able to get something figured out. Keep us posted!

Been there before with UPS. They don't want to exert any extra energy because they only got paid for the slow shipping.

Plus they seem to drive over every one of my boxes with the truck before they deliver them.

Got that same runaround before. Drove over to the hub and went into the office area and asked to speak with a manager. Had my stuff a few minutes later and signed some piece of paper saying I picked it up. I got the whole "we aren't supposed to do this, but since you're here" mess. Someone who works for UPS may correct me, but IIRC as long as its showing scanned in at a terminal, it is IN the building and not on a truck anymore. Once it gets scanned for departure, its loaded onto the truck and cannot be retrieved.

^ that matches my experience exactly. Called, asked no dice.

Drove up explained, calmly...and viola.

pounded 3 calls; so that's not working. can't get a direct # @ the hub where it is

knowing what was said ^^above, Id've driven down there and did battle.

I'm hoping it ends up at it's last stop tomorrow; I have a # and 2 names of folk I have dealt with.
If they load it on a truck tonight and it does not show scanned in tomorrow morn I'll give up

so pissed!
~you would think they would want someone to BE HAPPY with no extra effort on their part, and instead all the energy is put into 'maintaining policy' --for no valid reason!
An entire week! WHY?

almost 5; is it HH some where?!? I need to be medicated

I'm a bit confused. If they are at the hub, won't they be out for delivery tomorrow? That's always been my experience. I've seen stuff still in the Columbia or Greensboro hub at 5am but it manages to make it to my house 100 miles away by 5pm on the same day.

Last axle I got from ECGS was the same thing.... Showed up at the hub, showed them my ID (and they photo copied it), Signed a paper, and they loaded it on my truck for me and said thanks for saving us the trouble! If the hub is not terribly far away, I'd just show up there...

there's one more dispatch office they have to go to before 'out for delivery.
too bad it's not sitting there as I have contacts there.

on the phone 4 times this morn- disconnects, they called wrong hub, passed around like a whore ...
currently on hold again; 4 supervisors so far...not looking good

all this stress
for nothing

just want to wheel!

the reviews for the customer center were <1 star, and it's 45 mins. from here = too big a waste of time to gamble

if it were at the next dispatch it would have been easy-I have contacts

just hung up; waiting on call back (ha ha)

shipper tried 3 times yesterday

so far have got 3 call backs:
#1- my local dispatch; they of course, aren't the ones w/axles
#2- another hub; wrong hub, wrong tracking#, but that item can be picked up!
#3- tracking center, now trying to contact actual location

Anyone of you guys actually work for ups reading this?

nevermind- probably had to take a vow of secrecy like the masons.

I'm done; last woman said it don't look good, might not be there, was a 'logical' scan and not a 'physical' scan; and there was a 3 'scan types' mentioned-- they have a million reason why it can't be done

I'll update later
feeling like a whiney gash

I agree with^^ i work in delivery. The driver doesn't carry anything he's not told to why would he, but they are more than willing to help clear anything out of the way at the hub plus it saves hours for management and the hub may still be open tomorrow. Don't know for sure though.

last chance-

axles are at the last stop before 'out for delivery' and I know a couple folk there. But I already know the customer counter is closed today and they might not be there--airs only my driver told me

I'll call at 8am. We'll see if they answer.

--and the new delivery date is Mondayo_O
