Race Rig - Sponsorships

Race Rig

Hey guys,

Just thought i sent a shout to the rest of you guys who havent sent in money for the chance to win the bronco.

I spent 6hours tonite watching the guys work on the bronco. It's coming along real nice, i think MarvilousOne will have some pics up soon in the build section.

Everyone has great ideas and they are all coming together really well. Somebody is going win a really nice race rig.

Racing seats, 5 points harnesses, cage work, solid running gear.

You have to buy sponsorships to win!

Dylan still needs more sponsors to get this thing to the event. It's only $25.00 for a chance to WIN the truck! get that money in...its money well spent!

Got a lot of work done last night. Pics should be up soon.

We have a lot tacked into place, that needs welding.

We have d rings, a new steering wheel(need adaptor kit)
we have first aid kit, fire extinguisher,a drivers seat, air cleaner...and some materials(could use more)

Still need money..The rig will be very cool when were finished! Need helpers, parts(see list above) and TLC.

Send in money and get on the Sponsors list for chances to own the Bronco.

parts needed list

See post three in this thread for a revised parts list.

Donate items on the list in return for chances to win the Bronco.

Let me know, or post up if you want to donate!.....Money works too!

I have a stick or 2 of 1 5/8" tube that I can donate or use for a tube bumper or some tube doors. Let me know what is preferred and I'll see what I got. However, I'll need some measurements, etc so I can make it. I don't have a bronco to measure off of.

or I guess I could make the shock hoops with the tube too. we'll see how much tube you need compared to what I have.
Once we get the bed/interior figured out(hopefuly by sunday)It will all come together. I think we might run the shocks and hoops up by the fender walls. Once they are in place then we will know for sure about the hoops.

I wonder who is going this way, or if we can get a transport lined up?

I'm going that way on Good Friday (greenville to hickory) if someone has a trailer local. I can move it somewhere, etc. but I don't think that would help much as most of us have trucks that can pull it anyway.

Exactly where is the Bronco?

Right now the Bronco is in Mocksville nc...27028 at Snider automotive. I live a couple miles from there, the shop owner(njec4x4) is a friend of mine and has given me a key to work on it anytime.
We have our own bay that is sectioned off from his main shop.

Still not sure exactly where it's going or when, but hopefully we can get it to Raliegh sometime for a scorpion lining, and possibly to East coast gear so maybe chase can add a little to it. Not sure on the specifics yet, but will be soon. We are working on it again Sunday.

If anyone wants to weld on it some, we have a lot of stuff tacked and waiting. We will be working on the bed walls, floor boards, and other stuff Sunday. I think Mud,Landon and Drew will be out Wed. night to work on front end arms, batterybox, and pinion guards.

We will have to get the existing cage tied in after all of that, then the fuel cell plumbed in. It should be ready to travel shortly.

Dylan, I am coming through the state on Good Friday as well, down 85 and towards you.
If the Bronco is still in Mocksville then, I can pick up things along the way and bring them, and if I can find a place to crash in that neck of the woods Fri night I can put in a few solid hours of work

I just talked to Alex at Carolina Truggys, he is going to help us out with some cage work.

This creates an oppurtunity for some one to transport the Bronco either to or from Charlotte...OR both.

Any one want to transport it from Mocksville to Charlotte? Gets a chance to win!

From Charlotte to Mocksville when work is complete...gets a chance to win!!

Let me know.

Help sponsor the 09' URE 4x4cross race rig
You could win the rig for as little as $25 in sponsorship funding!

We also need battery cables if we're going to mount the battery in the rear. I'd also say we could use a battery disconnect for safety purposes.

How much battery cable do you need? I'm assuming just a long one for the positive side only, plus a short one for the negative side to the frame? If 4 ga cable will do let me know and I may be able to hook you up with it. I know that most guys like a heavier battery cable than that, but 4 ga is what I have. Let me know if you're interested.

All we would need is 5-6 feet to run from the box to the solenoid and a short ground or two. I'll run it by Dylan and he'll let you know. Thanks

No problem man. Now that I think about it I have some 2 ga too, but the 4 ga is red jacketed welding cable, and the 2 ga is green jacketed regular stranded, which is way stiffer than the welding cable.

Battery in the back sounds good to me. Remember, it's everyones build, so your ideas are fine with me! Build it like you want it...someone is gonna win it...could be you!

pm sent to Roughshod

If the 4ga is fine strand and the 2ga is corse the 4ga will actually be better. I say 6-7 ft of the 4ga would be great. The "juice" actually travels on the surface of the wire so more smaller ga wire will carry more amps than a larger corse strand(less surface area). Thought I'd throw a little tech in instead of a we still need build!

Workday planned for Sunday

We will be working on the Bronco Sunday after 1:00 so if anyone wants to bring parts/materials this is a good time.
Also, anyone wanting to work some...come on.

Thanks to our latest money donor...Papa Jon with $50 bucks and 2 chances...Good luck Jon!
