I have a '85 chevy k20 w/ a '78 Chevy 350 engine, the ol tank is gettin too hot when I take it back in the woods and cruise slow(up to 230-240). Once I got out of the trail and back on the road it cooled to 190-200. There's no tellin how old the radiator is or the last time is was flushed, it also has a small leak. Just wanted to her some suggestions on a good setup for the truck. How many rows...2,3 or 4? electric vs. mechanical fan? manufacturer? Any suggestions are appreciated!

I want to say the best route would be go with a big 2 core and to massive electric fans and you should be set.

Make sure fan clutch is working, a fan is necessary at slow speeds. For the fan to be efficient there needs to be a fan shrould. Years of debris can block air flow thru the radiator core. Corrosion or debris in radiator slows or prevents heat transfer. My 84 suburban has stock cooling components and runs without overheating even with 10-1 compression, cam, and my big foot on it.
