Radiator plastic end cap pin hole

I have used jb weld on a small crack, worked as a temp solution. But started leaking again in a week or so.

New radiator. The plastic is very difficult to bond to, and the movement from temperature and pressure cycles make it hard to prevent a shear bond failure. Anything adhesive is a temporary patch only.
If you don't want to try your hand at a fusion weld, get a new radiator.

I was kinda figuring one pin hole might be the tip of the iceberg. I slathered some JB weld on it just to see, but I suppose I may as well go on an order a new one.

Like said, I've not seen anything that works.. though closest I've gotten to a permanent fix was the radiator patch stuff with the fiber mesh and mercaptan bearing epoxy. It's sold as a patch kit by permatex. Just replace it with one from advance and get the lifetime warranty.. you'll be changing it every 1-7 years in my experience. Poor design and poor choice of materials for aluminum with plastic tanks.

I almost bought that Permatex mesh kit but it didn’t appear to be pressure rated so I chickened out. After cleaning up the area last night, it looked like there is a nice 1”+ crack forming around the base of the upper hose fitting. The hole was either in or next to the crack.

I scuffed mine with a zizz wheel and JB welded the cracks around the plastic cast in mounts on my old tracker.I had a good radiator in the barn I just wanted to see if it would work. Held for well over a year before I sold it.

My F-350 sprung a tiny leak (pinhole near the upper hose snout) the day before we left for WV (Chaos Offroad Park) last month... scuffed it with dragons tongue, sprayed it with brake cleaner, squirted a blob of JB Weld 5 minute and let it sit overnight.

Held fine dragging the Moss (about 8k# total) at 80MPH on I-81 and much slower on the narrow/twisty roads approaching Capon Bridge. Still holding good so far, but a new radiator is in it's near future!
