RADIO

If you're a sports nut - Sirius.

If you like music, XM.

XM it is then...for me anyway.

I've heard that XM has more channels to choose from anyway

I like my sirius, but XM has more local sports (collegiate). Music I think is about equal. Howard Stern is still all commercials, so don't decide by that. Either way I don't think you'll be disappointed, they are both way better than FM.

My wife has xm, Im getting sirius. If your a nascar fan, sirius is picking up nascar next year and xm is losing it.

Sirius is more expensive with NO commericals
XM is cheaper but I do belive that they do have them..

IMHO I would go by reciver shop around for what you want then decide by that

The music selection on Sirius is better. XM has commercials on several music channels, and the music repeats pretty heavily.

Stern went from 30 mins of commercials an hr on FM to 6 mins an hr on Sirius... so it's hardly "all" commercials... they're just there for bathroom breaks, basically. Most of the talk radio stuff will be that way on both services.

Only plus on XM is more sports broadcasts.

I'm damn near 100% opposite of Saf-t. I have XM in my truck, but the rental car I spent a week in had Sirius.

The music selection was far more limited on Sirius, as well as plenty of commercials on both.

Sirius seemed to have TONS more sports stuff, though none of it interests me on either.

It only took 6 presets to get all the music channels I cared to listen to on Sirius, I've got 11 used on XM for music.

I've heard Saf-t say on more than one occasion that the music repeats heavily on XM, that you could set your watch by it, etc.. When is the last time you had XM? I don't find that to be the case at all. Maybe the programming has changed.

As much as it pains me...
I agree with Rich here.

I have XM in the Yukon and in the house and wife has Sirius in the soccer mom-mobile(X3)...

Xm lost Sporting News a few months ago and Nascar goes Sirius Jan 1, Sirius has had NFL (XM doesnt)

I am a HUGE sports talk listner so I really like swapping cars when I travel.

As to music, XM seems to have more specific channels but deeper play lists within the genre.

I.E. I can find a station on XM that may play a specific band 5 times/day but a different song every time.

Whereas sirius may only play them twice but be the same song...

Of course with so may channels it could just be what I am listening to.

When is the last time you had XM?

About 2 mos ago.

Edit: No ACC, Big East, Big 10, or Pac-10 games on Sirius, but no channel 10, 11, 12, 13, 24, 25, 63 or 98 equivalents on XM. Oh, and no 100 or 101 on XM, either.

If all you listen to is top 20, you'll be happy with either one.

but no channel 10, 11, 12, 13, 24, 25, 63 or 98 equivalents on XM. Oh, and no 100 or 101 on XM, either.

10 - Don't love the Who that much
11 - Ditto on British music
13 - Who the hell loves Elvis that much?
98 - Don't love the stones that much

I see alot of VERY specific programming there..

But the suggestion above was best - try it out yourself...
