Raider Transfer Case Upgrade

What model transfer case do I have? Haven't been able to find it online. Found a rebuild kit for it, but no model or anything. Anybody know if I could bolt up a different/better transfer case? Thanks for the help!

Depends is it an auto or a manual, some auto's can have an np231 bolted to it

my trail Raider is a 2.6 4cyl with a manual trans.

Here's the ugly truth about Raiders and Monteros, they is virtually no aftermarket support, aside from wheels, tires, body lifts and lockers, there isn't much else. One thing that alot of guys do is use second generation parts to improve first gen performance. If your going to do a SAS I can assure you, you're going to need a SYE kit. No one makes them for that transfercase, you can only bolt a NP231 to a V6 Auto trans. Also your going to have to swap out the steering box for something different. If you do the SAS swap your better off doing a powertrain conversion, and using a saginaw steering box off something like a S10, Astro, or TJ/XJ. oh yeah, i've found that out the hard way! whats a SYE kit? see im going to keep the 2.6 in it, and gear it all to hell! i'll check it out man, thanks!
