Railroad Crossties

[R Q]

I need about 15 railroad crossties, 8' or 10' length in good condition, and of course free or cheap.
If you have access, please let me know and I can pick them up. I'm in the Charlotte area but anywhere close would be good.

I had luck finding some on craigslist but still paid near the same cost for them that I would have at Lowe's or HD.

Years ago we got about 50 of em from the RR when they were pullin them out but I think they have a contract with somebody to buy them now.

They are standard 8'6" Good luck finding any longer. Best bet is sLowes.

x2 i need 8 for a job coming up....they replaced the ties around my house and finally picked em all up. I got about 6 of them before they picked em up though.

Henderson mulch over in pineville had a huge stack of them yesterday. Dont know prices but could be worth a try.
